Wilderness Calling: From Chains to Change

Have you ever felt stuck? Like you're wandering in a wilderness season, wondering if God has forgotten about you?
Moses knew that feeling. He was called by God, yet he spent 40 years in the wilderness before stepping into his purpose. But here’s the truth we need to grasp: The wilderness is not punishment—it’s preparation.
The Wilderness is a Training Ground
Moses went from prince of Egypt to desert dweller, from powerful leader to fugitive shepherd. At first glance, it looked like he had lost everything. But in reality, God was preparing him for the greatest mission of his life.
➡️ The first 40 years of Moses' life, he thought he was somebody. ➡️ The next 40 years, he learned he was a nobody. ➡️ The last 40 years, God used him to show what He can do with a nobody who says YES.
Maybe you’re in a wilderness right now. Maybe you feel forgotten, stuck, or unqualified. But what if God is using this season to shape you for what’s next?
Your Excuses Don’t Disqualify You
When God called Moses, he didn’t respond with faith and confidence. Instead, he fired off every excuse in the book:
❌ “I’m not good enough.” ❌ “I don’t speak well.” ❌ “Send someone else.”
Sound familiar? We all have excuses that try to hold us back, but God isn’t looking for perfect people—He’s looking for obedient people. He doesn’t call the equipped; He equips the called.
What is Your YES Going to Do?
Moses’ YES changed history. He led an entire nation out of slavery. Your yes might not change the world, but it will change your world—your family, workplace, community.
👉 Reflection Question: What excuses have been holding you back from stepping into what God has called you to do?
👉 Next Step: Say YES to God’s calling today. Even if it feels uncomfortable. Even if you don’t have all the answers. Just take the first step.
God isn’t calling you to fail—He’s calling you to freedom.
